^ Od końca lat 90. z powodzenim mogliśmy mieć listę sprzedaży cd singli, choćby top 10 lub 20. Ilość tytułów nie była może powalająca, a oferta w większości dotyczyła artystów zagranicznych, ale wyniki sprzedaży jeszcze w pierwszych latach poprzedniej dekady byłym na całkim przyzwoitym poziomie, jak na kraj bez regularnego rynku singli. Niestety takowa lista nigdy nie powstała.

Dziś można ją tworzyć w oparciu o sprzedaż mobilną, digitale i cd. Dycha spokojnie na początek mogłaby być. Tyle, że nikomu się nie chce, choć dane o sprzedaży cyfrowej są gromadzone. To na ich podstawie po raz pierwszy przyznano przecież wyróżnienia dla piosenki polskiej i zagranicznej w ramach Fryderyków za ubiegły rok.

Póki co jedyną oficjalną listą piosenek jest właśnie airplay Nielsena.
